How to add property details and control their order

1. Begin by logging into the Manager area of the website (if you do not know how to login to the Manager area, please see the tutorial entitled “General Overview”).

2. In this example, we’ll show you how to add a new property detail (i.e. bedrooms, yard pictures and text, etc.) to the “My Property” section.

3. Right click “My Property” and from the pop up box choose “Create Document Here”.

4. Immediately a blank document will be loaded.  Fill in the following values for this new document:
  • Title: Put the name of this property detail here.  The name that you enter in this field will show in the tree diagram on the left in the Manager area under “My Property”.  The name that you enter in the “Title” field will help in the future when you’re trying to locate this particular document.
  • Long title: Put the name of this property detail here.  The name can be the same as the name in the “Title” field.  The name you put here will appear on the website itself.  Again, it can be the same name you put in the Title field or different if you want a different property detail name to appear on the website.
  • Document Content: The text you type here will show up on the front of the website above the photos for the property details.
  • Slidshow Image 1, 2, 3, etc.  Put the images you want for your property here.  To understand how to upload and insert images, view the tutorials for “How to Upload Images” and “How to Insert Images on Pages”
5. Scroll back to the top of the document and click on the “Page Settings” tab.  This tab is to the right of the “General” tab and below the title “Document Setting”.  After clicking on “Page Settings”, 4th down appears the phrase “Published?”.  Click the check box next to “Published”.  By default new documents are not set to Published unless you first specify this.

6. Now simply save the document by looking at the top of the page where you will see to the right of “Create/edit document” 2 rows of choices.  On the first row you will see “Save”, “Delete” and “Cancel”.  On the second row, you will see “After saving: Add Another, Continue Editing, Close”  Simply choose “Continue Editing” and then click “Save”.  If you have another browser or tab open, you can go to the page where the change occurred (in this case the a new detail about the property you added on the "My Property" page) and you’ll be able to see where the change was made (in this case a new property detail being added under the "My Property" section).

7. If you do not see any changes on the page you just modified, simply refresh that page and the change should show up.

8. How to sort the ordering of the Property Details.  The property details are sorted by the date in which they were added.  So for example if you added property detail A yesterday and then today you added a new property detail, property detail B, since property detail B is the most recent addition to the My Property section, property detail B will be first in the list of projects with property detail A being second.
  • To manually sort the order of the projects, simply click on the Page Settings tab at the top of the document (see step 5) you wish to edit.  There you will see “Publish Date”.
  • To the right of the “Publish date” is an empty field and to the right of that is a small calendar icon with the number “15” on it.  Click this calendar icon.
  • Immediately a pop up box will appear which has a calendar.  You can navigate to the exact date you want and choose it.
  • Once you have chosen that specific date, the date will load in the blank field to the right of “Publish date”.  For example, as this tutorial is being written, I choose today’s date which reads “18-03-2008 10:32:48”.  This simply means the 18th of March, 2008 at 10:32 am.  Now save the document.
  • So let’s go back to our example above of property detail A and property detail B.  Even though property detail A was originally posted before property detail B and therefore property detail B appears higher in the list of “My Property”, we can rearrange the order to put property detail A above property detail B.  To do so, simply edit property detail B (simply right-click property detail B in the tree diagram on the left and choose “Edit Document”).  Once this document has loaded, set the publish date to yesterday and save the document.  Now edit property detail A and set it’s publish date to today and save the document.  Because we defined the publish date with property detail A being published today and property detail B being published yesterday, property detail B will appear at the bottom of the list on the “My Property” page of the website with property detail A appearing first in the list.
